STEVENS scope of work included:

4. Refurbishing equipment from the tundish down to the cut off the machine — all with minimal engineering.
5. Pipe installation for a new spray chamber, water, grease, air and hydraulic — all field routed and installed “as-built”.

Our work on this project was performed over multiple shifts, logging over 70,000 man hours without a single safety incident.

STEVENS erected structural steel, joists, and decking for this 135,000 square-foot state-of-the-art sports complex just outside of Chicago.

This complex features:

- 6 basketball courts
- 12 volleyball courts
- 2 regulation-size indoor soccer fields
- 6 batting cages

STEVENS also installed an upper-level track used for running and walking that doubles as stadium seating for sporting events in the facility.

Construction started in September 2017 on and was completed in January 2018. Structural steel components were provided by Wilson Iron Works, a local fabrication shop.

Through our in-house pipe fabrication facility, STEVENS Engineers & Constructors fabricated and installed nearly 40,000 LF of stainless piping between two new continuous casters 40 miles outside of Chicago in Burns Harbor.

STEVENS completed a new caster for this project, from material procurement to machine start-up, in less than 3 months by utilizing in-house mandrel benders and Tip-Tig welders.

On an existing caster, we completed the work on an upgrade outage of Molds and Oscillators in 10 days.

Pipe used on this project varied from 20” all the way to ¾” with material ranging from carbon steel to 316 stainless and in-schedule from standard to XXS.

All work was performed to B31.1 code with 2,000+ heli-arc welds. For the duration of this project, STEVENS did not have a single rejected weld.
