STEVENS completed comprehensive foundation and concrete work for an MPLX natural gas processing facility. The project included construction of two major building foundations—a 20,000 square foot compressor building and a 4,000 square foot PDC building—each featuring caissons, building piers, grade walls, and floor slabs. A 3,200 square foot tank farm was constructed to support five 400-barrel tanks with complete containment walls. Additional work included the glycol regeneration skid with containment walls, pipe supports, and sump areas, plus electrical substation foundations for transformers, circuit breakers, and support structures.
Project Highlights
- Completed on time and under budget
- 23,000 man-hours worked (average 29 workers/day)
- 500+ drilled pier caissons completed
- 300+ tons of rebar installed (16 tractor trailer loads)
- 5,000+ cubic yards of concrete placed
- 40+ different equipment foundations
- Two building foundations (24,000 SF total)
- 3,200 SF tank farm with containment
The project team completed over 500 drilled pier caissons and placed more than 5,000 cubic yards of concrete across 40+ different equipment foundations. Despite weather-related site access challenges that limited early work areas, STEVENS successfully delivered the project on time and under budget through close communication and coordination with material vendors. The project team averaged 29 workers per day with peak manpower reaching 45, logging 23,000 man-hours throughout the approximately 80-day construction period.
